Position Type: Full-Time

Job DescriptionRole and Responsibilities
The East Texas Sales Manager develops and nurtures business relationships with current and potential customers for sales of the company's products and services. The individual communicates with customers and potential customers to identify and align Burton products and services with their needs while providing exceptional customer service. The Sales Manager collaborates with all company departments to enhance sales delivery quality and growth.

Responsibilities include:

  • Building and sustaining long-lasting relationships with new and existing customers based within East Texas and surrounding areas.
  • Conducting face-to-face meetings with existing and potential customers for the purpose of business growth, service efficacy and customer loyalty.
  • Continually meeting or exceeding sales targets by selling Burton Trucking Services to new and existing customers.
  • Developing and implementing an effective sales strategy to achieve sales targets.
  • Maintaining an accurate record of all leads, customer accounts and sales.
  • Researching competitors' products and pricing, as well as market conditions to inform Burton service lines and related pricing.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest industry developments by attending meetings, training workshops and industry/community events.
  • Strategically negotiating with potential and existing customers to qualify and close deals.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven outside sales experience, particularly via consultative sales.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly collaborative work style.

Work/Environment and Physical Requirements (with or without accommodation)

  • Shop, Field and Office environment, using computer, telephone, other office equipment as needed to perform duties with frequent interruptions throughout the day.
  • Essential: continuous sitting, standing, wrist turning, grasping, pinching, and finger manipulation, frequent turning and twisting, and occasional reaching.
  • Weather-related elements can be extreme cold, heat and wind.
  • Occasionally required to lift, carry, push and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Hearing and vision (both correctable) are essential.
