REGULAR PART-TIME POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Butler County Community College (BC3) is currently accepting applications for the position of
Biology/Chemistry Laboratory Technician at BC3 @ Lawrence Crossing and BC3 @ LindenPointe. This
is a regular part-time position that will begin immediately. Flexible work schedule available to support the
needs of the labs. Evening hours may be required. Travel to Main Campus is expected for training the
first year and occasionally after that.
Reporting to the Coordinator of Science and Technology Labs, the Biology/Chemistry Laboratory
Technician is responsible for preparing materials for biology labs, assigned physical science labs, and
Descriptive Chemistry labs at Lawrence Crossing, and at LindenPointe, when needed. In addition, the
technician is responsible for obtaining supplies needed for the labs, the collection, recording, and storage
of chemical and biohazardous waste, inventory of equipment and supplies at this site, maintaining the
Lawrence Crossing SDS book and List of Chemicals, organizing and maintaining the labs and prep rooms
to create a safe working environment, and arranging for the repair of dysfunctional equipment. Bachelor’s
Degree from an accredited institution in Biology or a related field and one year of experience in biology or
chemistry laboratory work required. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Hourly rate will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Review of applications will begin
