Job Summary:
The Human Resources Supervisor is a strategic business partner providing both consultative and operational support to the business leaders on all human resources-related matters. The Human Resources Supervisor is responsible for implementing proactive employee relations strategies consistent with The Butterball Way Culture and for helping to equip leaders, HR Generalists and individuals with the tools and techniques to align their performance with the goals and expectations of our culture, talent philosophies, policies, practices, and programs.
Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides coaching and guidance to leaders and partners to identify strategic solutions to accomplish business goals.
- Develops staff, administration of policies/procedures and governmental regulations, and promotes programs for employee training, health, and morale.
- Provides leadership and guidance to team regarding talent & performance management (promotions, demotions, transfers, leaves of absence, return to work programs, disciplinary programs, and terminations), employee relations, Human Resources policies and procedures, employee benefit programs, and compensation.
- Administers Human Resource Planning, Performance Assessments, and other evaluation programs within assigned responsibilities. Plans, organizes, and guides all HR activities of the assigned business function.
- Ensures consistency in execution of Human Resources policies, programs, and procedures.
- Assists in the development and administration of Affirmative Action Plans, Equal Employment programs, and other employment-related rules and regulations including unemployment compensation claims, wage and hour, labor, employment eligibility, etc.
- Builds and maintains effective working relationships with leadership team and employees to advise both on employee related and organizational matters.
- Conducts investigations, takes appropriate actions, advises managers on appropriate actions, and reviews manager recommendations.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics
- Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships and develop strategic solutions to business needs
- Ability to partner with and respond to leadership with urgency while providing leadership to address issues, questions, and concerns
- Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Detailed knowledge of the development and execution of HR policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal employment laws
- Ability to exercise judgment and tact in the application of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in dealing with others in difficult or sensitive situations
- Strong critical thinking and evaluation skills and ability to make data-based choices
- Ability use forward-thinking approaches in solving problems
- Strong computer skills (MS Office, HRIS, etc.)
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- 4 years of relevant experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role
- 1 year of leadership experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or HR related field
- 2-3 years of human resource experience in a manufacturing environment
- Bilingual (English / Spanish) strongly
