We are seeking our next Sales Strategist who has a passion for driving sales by creating new opportunities for their manufacturers, while managing the important day-to-day details that make the existing business at Target successful.
Responsibilities:
· Reports to the Division VP of Sales
· Leads the strategy and action initiative for ongoing, continued growth of the existing portfolio; establishing a vision that achieves the financial growth of division and company
· Drive roadmap success in building new opportunities for growth of existing accounts
· Cultivate opportunities for Solution selling growth
· Initiate sales opportunities at Target
· Achieve close rate of 65% on business initiative projects
· Drive product development process from factory onboarding support to development in Target’s product development systems (miro/spark) to negotiation system (pcn)
· Partner in the cultivation and driver of the implementation of new business accounts handed off from New Business Development
· Build relationships with key decision makers and act as liaison and single point of contact with manufacturers and buyers and their teams
· Drive discussions and ideation with manufacturer partner for expanded growth, new materials, innovation, or Target objective alignment in sustainability & responsible sourcing
· Analyze and develop knowledge of vendor products and services, and information regarding their competition to respond effectively to sales opportunities and inquiries
· Review market analyses (in store/online/social media) to determine customer needs, pricing, merchandising, and sales optimization
· Lead manufacturing partners in creating their Target strategy for online and social media platforms to drive growth
· Apply strong retail financial and in-depth analytical skill set to strategic planning of all accounts
· Direct product merchandising simplification and standardization for manufacturer
· Lead strategy for line reviews and competitive negotiations
· Create informative, influential presentations that effectively demonstrate the value proposition of bsg; presenting and delivering information to all levels of Target team members and manufacturers
· Lead and mentor Account Manager and Business Analyst to ensure best in class support in the everyday business operations
· Attend and participate at trade shows to meet with buyers and build insight into competition for your portfolio at bsg request
· Work effectively with decision makers to develop long term strategic relationships
· Actively participate in special projects focused on business growth for current or future accounts
· Build and utilize Target and industry network for immediate and future growth
· Utilize strong sales and financial acumen to forecast sales and contribute to corporate growth plan
· Contribute to company culture, team collaboration, and lead by example
· Driven sales professionals who thrive in a collaborative environment
· Passion for overall retail, trends in the market, digital acumen, working collaboratively for the end result, and influencing sales strategy
· 3-5 years of retail sales experience
