Material Planner:
Summary:
As the Material Planner, you will be responsible for managing the release of materials from the supplier to the plant to ensure that the supply of materials meet the production schedule and minimum stock levels to ensure operational and production continuity. In this roll, you must be able to deliver efficient, effective and flexible solutions to meet production requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule the delivery of materials/components to meet production requirements and minimum safety stock levels
  • Plan, develop, implement and evaluate processes for material delivery from supplier to production facility.
  • Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions
  • Day-to-day order management and management of deliveries
  • Anticipate potential problems and risks, and generates ideas, insight and solutions to resolve or minimize potential problems, followed by decisive action to implement solutions
  • Understand and manage risks to minimize impact on production schedule
  • Take follow up actions in relation to material shortages that affect production
  • Implement all processes to agreed standards and targets and support continuous improvement initiatives and identify areas of improvement
  • Utilize any Material Requirements Planning system (MRP) or IT system that is in place and ensure that data is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as required
  • Monitor the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM) and manage inventory accuracy
  • Monitor inventory levels against agreed target levels
  • Identify and coordinate advance notice, input and resolution of material shortages/overages
  • Support inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy
  • Minimize obsolete stock and ensure business is left with minimum liability
  • Create regular statistical reports and analysis and update others in the organization
  • Other duties as needed
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to forecast, plan and facilitate on-time materials to the production line as and when required, avoiding disruption to production
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and ensure demand for materials is met and deliveries made on time
  • Develop and implement processes and work with suppliers on continuous improvement initiatives
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Supply Chain Management Preferred
  • APICS Certification (CSCP and/or CPIM) Preferred
  • 2 years of experience in Supply Chain and/or Manufacturing
  • General knowledge of Manufacturing and Supply Chain principles
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and flexible on job assignments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel
  • Proven to be thorough and exercise attention to detail
  • Proven ability in multi-tasking complex projects and enjoy working in a fast pace environment
  • Successfully demonstrated teamwork skills with a strong focus on effective team dynamics
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
