SUMMARY
Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and services for organization by performing the following duties.

Managerial:
- Works with Customer Logistics Manager to develop and maintain planning department.
- Oversees one person
- Confers with other management personal to establish inventory management goals.
Pricing:
- Seeks and evaluates quotations from suppliers.
- Negotiates with and establishes relationships with suppliers.
- Participates in value analysis by finding comparable, less-expensive substitutes; helps to satisfy expectations within
budgeted amounts.
- Reconciles price discrepancies.
Purchasing:
- Responsible for finding sources of supply, guaranteeing continuity in supply and ensuring alternate sources of supply.
- Reviews requisitions.
- Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
- Prepares, monitors and expedites purchase orders.
Record Keeping:
- Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance and
inventories.
- Maintains drawings for purchased items and ensures vendor has current copy.
Quality:
*Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with quality assurance personnel, users, vendors
and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action, obtains RMA and generates packing slip.
Supervision:
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance.
- Interviews, hires, train, etc.
- Assigns and supervises functions
SKILLS:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; related experience/C.P.M certification taken into consideration. Experience of 10 or more years in a manufacturing purchasing position.
Must be computer literate; have good telephone skills, and have ability to use standard office equipment.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate with internal and external customers in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to operate computer keyboard.
WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
