How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? The main object and purpose of this position is to act as Senior HR business partner to support the business strategy, objectives and values of the company by managing and implementing the Human Resources programs and policies for the designated region in accordance with ALC’s strategy. The incumbent is the contact person for managers and employees of the designated region in all matters concerning Human Resources management, employee relations, recruitment, training, coaching, and compensation, while promoting ALC’s quality and safety objectives. 1. Provides support to managers in the implementation of ALC’s business strategy, objectives, and values: As Business Partner, advises managers on all HR issues as relates to their day-to-day operations and management decisions and makes appropriate HR recommendations to obtain the greatest efficiencies possible to meet the targeted objectives (recruitment, transfers, promotions, reorganization, succession planning) while ensuring the consistent and fair treatment of all employees. Coordinates and supervises the recruitment and selection process. 2. Coaches managers and employees: Advises and offer coaching to the managers and employees to ensure respect of HR policies and procedures. In conjunction with local managers, determines the skills needed to support the business strategy, develops a succession plan while helping to identify key positions and potential candidates, and guides employees to develop their skills. Meets employees to learn about their interests and projects in order to be able to orient their career decisions while ensuring continuity with the succession plan. The Senior Business Partner plays an active role in coaching the managers in HR and labor relationship. The HRBP is a strategic partner and uses influence to support its managers in talent planning and in HR strategic decisions. The HRBP plays an active role in change mangement. 3. Takes on advisory/coaching role with the managers of the region concerned: In collaboration with the Director, Industrial Relations, advises managers in matters of labor relations, interpretation and application of collective agreements, labor legislation and regulations, and compliance with ALC’s policies and procedures. Recommends administrative and disciplinary measures for employees together with appropriate action plans for monitoring employee performance. Participates in the preparation of management demands for the various unionized groups, and participates actively in the collective bargaining process. 4. Ensures appropriate management of compensation programs and administrative process in their region: In collaboration with the Total Compensation team, ensures that the management of annual salary increases and of the variable compensation programs complies with ALC’s standards and objectives. Ensures management of TAS and TMS administration process through Workday (job requisition in his region, PMP process, recruitment) 5. Participates in development of HR programs and takes part in special projects: Participates in development and deployment of programs and processes in compliance with ALC standards (benefits, job evaluations, salary revisions, internal transfers, training, career development, recruitment, etc.). Provides the necessary coaching and support to the HR team. Encourages the sharing of information, knowledge, best practices and experience within the team. Participates in special HR project assignments. 6. Safety/Quality: Participates in promoting ALC safety and quality objectives. Works with own team and with multidisciplinary teams to continuously improve working methods and introduce adequate corrective and preventive measures. ___________________ Are you a MATCH? Experience: 12 to 15 years of experience as HR Generalist in unionized environments and labor relatio Diploma: BA in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or equivalent. Training: ALC applications and products, Law and regulations of the region, HRIS (Workday) Knowledge: Industrial relations and HR, talent management, recruitment and selection, basic principles of compensation and benefits, strong skills in verbal and written communication, good knowledge of Google IT tools.
