Primary Function
The Client Manager I is responsible for all aspects of human capital and payroll management for contracts and assists clients in the process of obtaining information for payroll production and tax related issues.
Primary Responsibilities
- Verifies totals, responds to and helps resolves client questions and problems
- Manages integration of employee benefits, time and labor systems, payment transfers and other human resource direction.
- Maintains a base of over 100 payroll/HCM/Benefits clients
- Assists clients in maintaining human resource and payroll data including salary adjustments, special payments, tax allocations, employee deductions and payroll schedules.
- Accurately imports or keys all payroll related data necessary to process and meet appointment schedules
- Consults with clients relating to taxability of SEC 125 plans
- Assists with integration of employee benefits from new hire to carrier to termination
- Maintains a high rate of client retention through quality service
- Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with clients, agencies and co-workers to promote a quality service image
- Regular and reliable attendance required
- Works cooperatively with others
Qualifications
Education/Designations:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred
Skill Requirements
- Experience and proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel and/or G Suite products including Gmail, Docs word processing, Sheets, and Drive cloud storage
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Displays strong customer service skills
- Organizational and time management skills

Work Experience
- 3 years of office-related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Solid understanding of payroll and payroll tax laws

- Must be able to communicate effectively with clients, producers, carriers and staff
- Ability to stand or sit at a workstation during a standard workday
- Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and printer
- Ability to move about the office to access office machinery and supplies

- Ability to work and meet challenging deadlines and expectations
- Job entails meticulous attention to detail
- Must perform well with frequent interruptions or distractions
- Ability to quickly adjust priorities, focus and direction as circumstances dictates
