Role and Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions
- Oversees the utilities and routine and preventative maintenance of the building(s) and grounds.
- Oversees security and access control to the building(s).
- Coordinates with the EH&S representative to execute all necessary EH&S activities for the building(s).
- Coordinates with the Engineering team on all installation and removal of training equipment from the building(s).
- Oversees compliance with all property lease/permit requirements.
- Exercises judgment and initiative in interpreting policies in the planning and implementation of major work assignments.
- Effectively allocates time and resources to meet budget objectives in a timely manner.
- Is responsible for improvement of processes related to Facilities activities of the building(s).
- Monitors facility discrepancies and ensures the discrepancies are accurately prioritized and corrected in a timely manner.
- Monitors facilities calls and ensures the problems are resolved in a courteous and timely manner.
- Monitors and schedules all required internal and contracted inspections of facility equipment and aids.
- Ensures that all available manpower is used effectively and efficiently.
- Identifies and tracks reoccurring and potential system problems and confers with technical experts and colleagues to formulate working and improvement plans.
- Processes and/or coordinates the processing of facility purchase requests and invoices.
- Reviews time sheets for assigned personnel to ensure all entries are correct and complete.
- Assists in recruiting, hiring, and developing sufficient staff to achieve accountabilities and deliver professional service.
- Provides overall staff guidance, direction, and leadership to ensure that equipment reliability remains at peak performance in support of internal and external clients.
- Plans and coordinates daily activities and work assignments along with future projects in order to minimize customer impact situations.
- Coordinates with other staff personnel to obtain parts and assistance necessary to service the building(s) in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Provides customer service support and addresses customer needs in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 8-12 years facility support experience.
- Experience managing a team.
- Experience with managing third party staffing agencies to include negotiating contracts
- Experience with Ariba purchasing systems preferred by not required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of the appropriate license/certification for specific work to be done in the current area.
- Ability to recognize and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the department's operations.
- Ability to evaluate the technical performance of the Facilities support staff and make recommendations for promotion and recognition.
- Ability to effectively evaluate equipment performance and make recommendations concerning new equipment procurement.
- Advanced knowledge of MS-Office tools and suite and assisting users.
- Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
Physical Effort:
- The physical or muscular exertion required for prolonged standing, walking, and lifting or moving objects (weighing as much as 50lbs) and the resulting fatigue brought about by these activities
- Work in sustained sitting, standing, stooping, and squatting positions. Also climbing on ladders and equipment to heights 25 to 30 feet above the floor. Ability to safely move and work on equipment in confined spaces for reasonable periods of time.
- The physical dexterity required in performing tasks that require hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills.
- Have the manual dexterity, knowledge, and experience necessary to work safely and effectively with various hand tools.
- Ability to maintain situational awareness at all times and work safely on and around complex machinery that is characterized by sudden and at times violent movement in all 3 axes.
- Ability to work safely in cool interior conditions (temps between 55- and 65-degrees Fahrenheit)
