Position Summary
The Cage Cashier, under the direction of the Cage Manager, is responsible for counting and balancing money with precision and efficiency, assisting guests in a highly professional manner, and processing credit card advances and personal checks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Making change and cashing gaming machine tickets in a timely manner
- Opens and closes Vault
- Prepare checks for deposits
- Cashing of checks for cash -utilizing computer terminals, maintaining inventory of documents, and negotiable instruments
- Process document requirements for Global line of credit
- Responsible for maintaining their bank, equipment, and surrounding area
- Prepares Out-banks for other departments
- Conducts operation of basic slot equipment such as jet-sorts, currency counter, coin wrapper, and calculator
- Promote teamwork and cooperation with supervisors and all co-workers
- Promote positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service
- Knowledge of jurisdiction gaming laws as well as internal controls, policies and procedures
- Comply with Title 31 record keeping and procedures
- Keep all information concerning guests confidential
- Maintain a consistent and regular attendance record. Attend all mandatory meetings
- Maintain ATM machine
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- One-year prior casino cage, banking, or money handling experience
- Ability to handle money and operate a computer terminal
- Communicate with the public in a clear and friendly manner
- Knowledge of 10-key, balancing of banks
- Must have high school diploma or GED
- Must be able read, write, speak, and understand English
- Must have basic math skills
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must meet requirements to qualify for a Cahuilla Casino Gaming License.
- Must pass an extensive background security check. No felony convictions and no serious misdemeanor convictions.
- Must be able to complete the 90 day Introductory Period in consecutive days as scheduled

Cahuilla Casino Hotel is committed to a drug and alcohol free workplace. Any job offer is conditional upon successful passing of a pre-employment drug test and must qualify for a Cahuilla Gaming License, which includes an extensive background security check.
If none of the applicants should meet the stated qualifications, applicants whose education and experience are less than the stated requirements, may be interviewed and hired provided the applicant hired submits a formal written training plan within (30) thirty days which can be completed within a reasonable time agreed upon by the supervisor and the applicant. Applicants who are hired and fail t meet the agreed upon formal training program, will be discharged upon failure to complete the specified training as so scheduled. A drug test will be required prior to employment and periodically thereafter.
