Job Description And Duties
Under the general direction of the Assistant Deputy Chief of Field Enforcement with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), Division of Occupational and Safety Health (DOSH), Enforcement Branch, the Regional Manager, Statewide Agricultural Enforcement Task Force and Outreach Manager (AETFO), has full supervisory and oversight responsibility of local DIR-DOSH Agricultural Enforcement Task Force Compliance District Offices and the Agricultural Hotline/ Outreach Unit (AETFO) without detailed supervision or review. The AETFO Manager, in collaboration with the Chief and executive team of DOSH, establishes expectations and goals for the unit; analyzes the effectiveness and engagement efforts of the unit; ensures customer satisfaction; evaluates emerging trends within communities and the tools that most effectively engage and inform those impacted. The AETFO Manager implements and participates in the development of the overall Division policies relating to safety engineering, industrial hygiene, accident and occupational health hazard prevention and enforcement of the State's Occupational Safety and Health Orders. The AETFO Manager supervises, plans, schedules, directs, assigns, evaluates, and reviews the work of a multi-disciplinary staff composed of Office Technician (Typing), Staff Services Manager I, Senior Safety Engineer, Senior Industrial Hygienist and District Managers, engaged in the administration and implementation of the Cal/OSHA program. The AETFO Manager is responsible for the training, upward mobility, and maintaining discipline of employees under their supervision. The AETFO Manager ensures that both the regional office and district offices function and operate daily in accordance with DIR-DOSH directives, rules, policy and procedures and that staff promotes DIR-DOSH Mission, Vision, Values, and Goals. The AETFO Manager sets priorities, evaluates performance of all staff and travels throughout the State.

Primarily the work will be in an office environment working indoors 8 hours or more per day, working in front of a computer screen, for extended periods of time; Using a multi-line telephone console or a cordless telephone with headset; Sitting/standing for extended periods, during meetings, trainings, or workplace inspections; Perform repetitive hand motion, simple grasping, fine finger manipulation, pushing and pulling with right and left hands; Reaching (above and below shoulder level); Moving/walking and standing for extended periods of time, including but not limited to, on slopes, uneven, rough, wet, and/or slippery surfaces/terrain; Bending, squatting, crouching, kneeling, stooping and twisting. Some work may be at a field site that has the potential for exposures to safety and health hazardous substances, and may involve, working outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions (e.g. rain, strong winds, heat, and cold);move and transport up to 50 pounds of equipment or work related materials; Climbing up and down/balancing stairs, ladders, stoops, slopes; Dressing appropriately for working in the field, including proper use of personal protective equipment (safety boots, protective suits, hearing protection, respiratory protection, safety eyewear, hard hat, cooling vests, gloves, etc.); Have functional vision; Traveling via private, State vehicle, or public transportation (i.e. automobile, airplane, etc.) including overnight travel may be required.
Special Requirements
Possession of a valid California Driver’s License and car insurance.
Ability to travel (driving for extended periods of time, commercial flights, etc.) within the defined area of the Region and within California for the purposes of field work, attending internal meetings, and attending training, including overnight to multiple night stays.
