Description

WHO ARE WE: Founded in 1966, CRLAs mission is to fight for justice and individual rights alongside the most exploited communities of our society. Through a network of regional offices and cross-cutting programs, CRLA provides legal services to tens of thousands of low-income people annually. Our work impacts farmworkers, indigenous populations, individuals with disabilities, immigrant populations, LGBTQ communities, women, children, and low-income families in rural areas.


  • Job Title: Recruiter (Temporary - 6 Months)

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Recruiter will manage the full recruitment cycle and is critical in ensuring CRLA hires the best possible talent. The Recruiter will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for CRLA. This role provides administrative support to the human resource department functions as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process.
  • Collaborates with CRLA's Legal Directors, Program and Project managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of CRLA.
  • Manages job postings and advertisement processes.
  • Screens applications and supports hiring managers in selecting qualified candidates.
  • Schedules interviews; oversees the preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
  • Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and CRLA policies.
  • Manages, attends, and participates in college job fairs and recruiting sessions.
  • Conduct all post-contingency offer background and reference checks.
  • Performs new hire orientations for all staff (employees, interns & volunteers).
  • Serves as system administrator for Applicant Tracking System (ATS), develops and maintains workflows of the ATS.
  • Ensures new hires complete all required documentation before employment, including.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & QUALITIES:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.
  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
  • Experience in non-profit or public service.
  • Experience with HRIS (Paycom & LinkedIn Recruiter Applications).

Compensation & Benefits:

We offer a diverse, family-friendly environment and compensation based on competitive public interest salaries; this position estimated salary range is $57,000 - $79,000 (placement in the range is primarily determined by years of related experience). Generous benefits package includes 100% employer-covered medical, dental, vision, life, and short & long-term disability insurance for employees and up to 50% for dependent coverage. A 401K retirement plan with a CRLA contribution is effective immediately. The generous paid leave policy includes; 15 days of sick leave, 15 holidays each year, and vacation (accrue 15 days for the first year of service and 20 days after one year of service at CRLA).


CRLA requires that all employees be Fully Vaccinated, defined as a CDC-approved COVID vaccination and one booster shot. This offer is contingent on meeting this requirement.
