Summary/Objective: We are seeking an experienced marketing professional for the role Director of Marketing. This person will work closely with business development, executive leadership, operations, and estimating in preparing thoughtful and highly customized responses to RFPs/RFQs, as well as taking on a leadership role in the branding and marketing strategy for the company, to further push Callahan as a market leader and the firm of choice across multiple market sectors. This position reports directly to VP, Business Development.
Essential functions:
- Ability to build new processes and manage the marketing department
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Provide research and develop collateral for business development efforts
- Stay abreast of new and current trends by attending industry programs and representing Callahan within the community, as well as at strategic local business functions and events
- Assist in the planning and execution of employee engagement pursuits and activities/events
- Assist in planning and advertising philanthropic events
- Lead marketing and advertising efforts, develop annual campaigns in collaboration with business development, coordinate, author, and distribute press releases
- Liaise with Public Relations agencies and clients to provide input and trafficking of press releases
- Develop content for social media with support from marketing coordinator
- Provide support for team members by mentorship and training
- Prioritize multiple assignments to deliver materials that communicate clearly defined messages, quality, and branding, while meeting deadlines
- Create effective layouts and develop content that is responsive to RFQ/RFP requirements, customize resumes/profiles, confirm team references, generate experience lists
- Lead efforts to produce winning responses to RFQ/Ps and presentations to secure new work
- Coordinate and submit annual certifications and award submissions
Required education and experience:
- 7 years in marketing/proposal development within the AEC industry required
- Strong understanding of the AEC industry
- BS/BA degree in marketing, communications, journalism, business, or related
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Demonstrated commitment to quality with strong project management skills
- Experience with mentoring and managing others within the department
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced collaborative team environment
- Ability to manage & coach senior staff members in accomplishing proposal deadlines and with follow up interview presentations
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with graphic design and effective page layouts
