Overview
MED TECHNICIAN
Pay: $16.00/hr
Shift: 7am to 7pm Rotating Schedule
The MED TECHNICIAN (MED TECH) will report to the Assistant Director of Nursing. The mission of the MED TECH is to assist nursing staff with effectively managing medication administration, checking vital signs, performing other nursing duties as directed by a licensed nurse, and documenting care in the medical record. The MED TECH is responsible for adhering to all policies, procedures, and infection control protocols. The MED TECH will work collaboratively with multiple departments and parents/guardians to establish and maintain healthy program culture and norms. The nursing department will be staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Responsibilities
Appropriately applies knowledge of basic concepts in pre-adolescent and adolescent health and development.
Manages common health conditions within scope of practice.
Complies with Infection Control Standard Operating Procedure(s) (SOP).
Complies with safe medication administration practices per SOPs.
Student health requirements for physicals, dental, vision, and immunization are communicated to ADON or transportation department in a timely manner to maintain compliance with state regulations and guidance.
Completes Missouri Medication Certification Program Level 1, Medication Aide Training Program, or a recognized medication certification training program during 90-day integration period
Qualifications
Completed Missouri Medication Certification Program Level 1, Medication Aide Training Program, or a recognized medication certification training program
Must be 21 years of age or older
Has a High School Diploma or GED
Is able to pass State and Federal background checks
