What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technician - Automotive Testing position at Calspan Corporation?
The Calspan Automotive Crash Facility, located in Buffalo, NY, is an international leader in automotive crash testing and is always improving and advancing the science. Working in Calspan's new, fully enclosed automotive crash test facility with its MESSRING propulsion system and micro track, the ideal candidate will be a self-starter working in a "hands on" position.

This position provides technician support to testing and engineering through operating, troubleshooting, calibrating and maintaining of test equipment; and performs basic design of circuitry.
- Support testing by efficiently operating equipment and ensuring accurate results and records. Provide technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after testing.
- Perform set-up and installation of equipment, instrumentation, cable routing, soldering and checkout before, during and after the test.
- Support the maintenance, installation and repair of test equipment to maximize operational availability.
- Document test procedures and installations. Provide guidance with data calculation
Preferred Education / Experience:
- AAS or Bachelors in related discipline
- 3 years in related discipline or;
- A combination of education and experience equivalent to above
Preferred Knowledge / Ability:
- Troubleshooting mechancial or electrical problems
- Electrical and electronic principles
- Perform operations and execute moderately complex test procedures for engineering, scientific, or real-time data acquisition
- Read and understand engineering plans and specifications
- Read drawings and troubleshoot
- Microsoft Office
