Worship Ministries Director

Position Description: The Worship Ministries Director will be responsible to the Senior Pastor for the leadership and development of the worship ministry and will oversee and coordinate its details. The Worship Ministries Director must be a visionary who is creative in leading people to a deeper relationship with God and who can communicate our vision and direction that inspires others to join in the pursuit of that vision. This position requires a leader who serves not solely as a musical director but also as a shepherd to the people who serve in this ministry.

• Commitment to moral purity and be able lead and inspire others to do the same.
• Commitment to the Purpose, Mission, and Vision of Calvary Bible Church as stated in our Constitution.
• A heart for the spiritual growth of the church and the worship ministry.
• Demonstrate experience and excellence as a worship leader.
• Skilled in vocal and instrumental direction.
• Can proficiently play at least one instrument as part of the worship team.
• Has a quality singing voice and engaging stage presence.

Abilities:

• Relational skills and an enthusiastic presence for leading a church in worship.
• Skilled in organization, administration, and interpersonal relationships.
• Skilled in the use of technology in worship and basic use of sound, lighting, computers, Power Point, and video projection.
• Ability to incorporate other art forms of worship as needed.
• A motivated self-starter.
• A team player with a positive attitude and kind heart.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a growing walk with Jesus Christ through ongoing spiritual disciplines.
• Recruit, audition, train, and support worship team members and spend time developing relationships with the team.
• Plan the corporate worship services with the Senior Pastor and Multi-Media Ministries Leader(s) on a weekly basis in a way that advances the theme of the message topic.
• Oversee song and choral selection, media preparation and presentation, sound and lighting enhancements, and coordination of all instrumentalists and vocalists.
• Plan seasonal and outreach events.
• Schedule weekly activities and rehearsals through the use of Planning Center
• Broaden personal and professional growth by learning technical components of the Media Ministries sound/lighting system.
• Oversee the worship department annual budget, organization, and volunteers.
• Build contacts and relationships with local musicians for both evangelistic and staffing purposes.
• Set annual goals for the worship ministry that are in line with our vision and then evaluate how those goals were attained or modified during the year.
• The Worship Ministries Director will lead both our traditional and contemporary services a minimum of 2-3 times per month, and scheduling worship leaders to lead on those Sundays they are not leading.

Accountability: The Worship Leader will be accountable to the Senior Pastor.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30,000.00 - $35,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
