Purpose
The Product Engineer plans and executes complete engineering design products or specific projects, from initial design concept through to production release and post-production support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Meets program targets set forth by Program Management.
- Produces designs that are feasible and economical to produce in the manufacturing facilities.
- Provides alternative design solutions, analysis, justification and recommendations at the concept stage.
- Plans, formulates and implements all phases of a project to meet customer determined project milestones.
- Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
- Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems.
- Provides support and contributes to manufacturing performance and customer service by assisting in the solution of production or quality problems associated with design.
- Ensures that all appropriate tests are performed
- Ensures product designs meet customer requirements.
- Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget.
- Prepares interim and completion project reports.
- Captures and documents lessons learned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent education and training required.
- 2 years of experience
- Experience in automotive seating.
