What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Engineer position at Camaco, LLC?

Purpose

The Product Engineer plans and executes complete engineering design products or specific projects, from initial design concept through to production release and post-production support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meets program targets set forth by Program Management.
  • Produces designs that are feasible and economical to produce in the manufacturing facilities.
  • Provides alternative design solutions, analysis, justification and recommendations at the concept stage.
  • Plans, formulates and implements all phases of a project to meet customer determined project milestones.
  • Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems.
  • Provides support and contributes to manufacturing performance and customer service by assisting in the solution of production or quality problems associated with design.
  • Ensures that all appropriate tests are performed
  • Ensures product designs meet customer requirements.
  • Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget.
  • Prepares interim and completion project reports.
  • Captures and documents lessons learned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent education and training required.
  • 2 years of experience
  • Experience in automotive seating.

  • Knowledge of computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel including customers & suppliers

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting and on the plant floor.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
