The Cambodian Association of America (CAA) is the oldest Cambodian nonprofit organization in America and has 46 years of history serving the needs of the Southeast Asian community in the Greater Long Beach Area. In the past decade, CAA has broadened its client base to include Laotian, Vietnamese, Samoan, Hispanic, African American, and Caucasian, as well. The organization’s service area includes Long Beach, Lakewood, Bellflower, Norwalk, Carson, San Pedro, Wilmington, and some other cities on the East side of Los Angeles County.

Position: Case Manager, CalWORKs Domestic Violence program

Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Program Coordinator, the CalWORKs Domestic Violence Case Manager assumes the following duties and responsibilities:

· Conduct community outreach and provide domestic violence awareness educational presentations

· Provide information/referral services to clients and response to telephone and walk-in inquiries

· Conduct intake assessment and case management, counseling, client referral to appropriate services

· Conduct large and small group and one-on-one counseling with clients

· Receive 40 hours of domestic violence training and 20 hours of D.A.R.T. training

· Collaborate with LB WomenShelter, Su Casa Shelter, and Legal Aid centers to inform them of services available and to refer clients as appropriate.

· Assist in providing cultural sensitivity training to various mainstream agencies

· Understand and be sensitive to the Cambodian community's needs, problems, and concerns

· Maintain confidential files and keep activity log, forms, and reports up-to-date in a timely manner

· Attend all meetings and training required by the program

· Maintain a good working relationship with affiliated agencies' staff

· Perform other related duties and supportive services as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

  • Associate (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Working with Domestic Violence Victims: 2 years (Preferred)
