What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mailroom Clerk position at Cambrian College?

Position Summary

Cambrian College’s Shipping and Receiving department requires a full-time Mailroom Clerk beginning July 2024.

Note: Internal candidates, as defined by the Full-Time Support Staff Collective Agreement, will be given first consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sort and assemble outgoing mail for daily mailing, process outgoing mail using the existing Pitney Bowes Metering System to apply the appropriate Canada Post postage
  • Process packages using Purolator’s System for outgoing packages (under existing agreement)
  • Ensure adherence to both Canada Post requirements and numerous courier company protocols
  • Track various types of information including regular departmental postage costs, courier manifests, reports etc
  • Ensure that all good received are following established College purchasing policies in support of the Supply Clerk position
  • Coordinate the return of equipment/supplies to vendors where they do not meet College purchase order requirements; maintain accurate and concise records
  • Participate in the internal delivery and pick-up of goods and assist truck drivers as required

Qualifications

  • Two- year postsecondary diploma, preferably in Business. (A copy of educational documents must be submitted with application *** education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES or ICAS with their application)
  • One year of experience in quick and accurate data entry along with experience in an environment where effective and tactful communication skills were utilized.
  • Self-starter with good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills and a positive attitude.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of TeamDynamix
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service.
  • Collaborative professional who promotes teamwork and works cohesively within a team-oriented environment.
