Reports To: 1. Reports directly to the Materials Manager.
2. Reports indirectly to the Director of Materials Management.
3. Works collaboratively with all members of the health care
team.
FUNCTION: The Laundry Processing Attendant is responsible for collecting, transporting, and shipping soiled washable items. This position receives and processes clean linen onto carts and transports the carts to user areas.
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High school education required.
2. Sewing experience preferred.
3. Ability to read, write and follow simple oral and written
instructions.
4. Must possess a valid motor vehicle operators license and
able to drive a stick shift box truck.
5. Ability to be scheduled for work based on operational
needs of the hospital.
6. Possess the ability to deal tactfully and harmoniously
with guests.

C. WORK ROLE COMPETENCIES
Clinical Practice
1. Responsible for collecting soiled linen from all areas of the hospital,
physicians offices/clinics, (both on and off campus) and transporting
to the Linen Distribution Center. Soiled linen is then loaded onto a
truck to be transported off site for the wash process.
2. Responsible for unloading clean (out-sourced) linen from delivery
truck.
3. Remove clean linen from delivery carts to hospital Exchange Carts.
Exchange Carts are then loaded onto hospital truck for transport to the
main hospital.
4. Transports Exchange Carts to user areas and exchanges cart with cart on
floor.
5. Delivers/Transports via cart or hospital owned vehicle clean linen to
physicians offices/clinics (both on and off campus).
6. Fills phone request for additional linens and takes them to requesting
areas.
7. Check all linens for stains and imperfections
8. Responsible for the general cleanliness of the laundry truck as well as
clean/soiled linen carts.
9. Responsible for the sterilization of the laundry truck as well as
clean/soiled linen carts.
10. May repair linen, patch holes in surgery wrappers or make a variety of
items such as curtains, cart covers, arm slings, back braces, surgery
drapes, sheets, pillowcases, etc. as well as alter scrub clothes.

hazardous material control.

maintains a safe environment for patient care.
