Welcome to Camp Agape! Our summer camp is nestled in the heart of Hickory, PA, and is the perfect place for children and adults to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and connect with nature.

At Camp Agape, we offer a variety of programs that are designed to meet the needs of campers of all ages and interests. Our experienced staff is committed to creating a positive and inclusive community where campers can feel at home and be themselves. Whether you’re interested in swimming, hiking, crafts, or just relaxing by the campfire, we have something for everyone.

Our campsite features climate-controlled cabins, beautiful surroundings, and plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventure. We are committed to sustainability and work hard to minimize our impact on the environment. We believe that spending time in nature is not only good for the soul, but also for the planet.

Overview:

The Camp Agape Cabin Leaders are seasonal employees of Agape Ministry with the primary responsibility of supervising campers, as well as providing program activities for campers and looking after their welfare and safety. The Cabin Leader participates with other staff in meeting the needs of those we serve and in Agape’s mission of encouraging and nurturing ALL God’s people to reach their full potential. Cabin Leaders will be accountable to the Program and Executive Directors.

Qualifications:

  • Be a practicing Christian.
  • Have current child abuse and criminal clearances, including FBI fingerprinting.
  • Hold current CPR and First Aid certifications or attain them once employed.
  • Be at least 18 years old or graduated from high school.
  • Have experience working with children.
  • Have good communication and organizational skills.
  • Be able to follow tasks through to completion.
  • Be able to enforce camp rules.
  • Be willing to take such training as requested by the Program Director.
  • Be able to swim if supervising campers at the pond.

Essential Functions:

  • Be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, injury, etc.)
  • Must possess the strength and endurance necessary to maintain constant supervision of campers.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in complying with Camp Agape policies and ACA standards.
  • Meet and greet campers and families upon their arrival and departure.
  • Be responsible for the well-being and safety of their group.
  • Participate in leading and supervising their group of campers as assigned during their stay at camp.
  • Assist campers with settling in and checking out.
  • Model appropriate behavior for the campers and staff, including:
  • a. Concern for the environment
  • b. Following Camp rules
  • c. Health and safety concerns
  • d. Caring for each other’s needs
  • e. Cleanliness of camp facilities and themselves
  • f. Maintaining appropriate boundaries
  • g. Accepting as a child of God every camper, staff member, and visitor regardless of your personal beliefs.
  • Provide leadership for recreation and cabin devotions as assigned.
  • Assist with their groups’ mealtime chores.
  • Assist the campers in maintaining the cleanliness and neatness of the cabins and shower house.
  • Attend staff training events and staff meetings.
  • Refer any children in crisis, as well as any discipline problems, to the Program Director.
  • Refer any health or sanitation concerns to the Program Director.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $360.00 - $375.00 per week

Ability to Relocate:

  • Hickory, PA 15340: Relocate before starting work (Required)
