TITLE: Supply Chain Associate

Position Summary:
Responsible for providing service to the manufacturing operation regarding inventory cycle counting, inventory count requests, inventory accuracy and shipping of products to ensure quality of service, and internal customer delivery expectations consistent with company policy and performance standards.
Coordinates the tasks of team members to execute the functions of inventory control and for shipping/ warehousing by performing a combination of duties associated with, manually preparing, handling, organizing, loading, unloading of skids or packaged orders to be received and stocked. Verifies paperwork including quantities, dimensions, weights. Secures loads, distributes and assure that material handling is being done accordingly to the necessary documentation or instruction including but not limited to work order, shop prints, verbal instructions or other form of instruction.
Observing all safety and operational procedures, including maintaining all required paperwork, safety logs, preventive maintenance logs and checklist to meet quality, and delivery expectations.
The Supply Chain Associate must be decisive and possess the ability to choose an alternative course of action when necessary. Always maintaining communication with Shipping Manager and/or Supply Chain Manager for further approval.
A sense of urgency toward efficiency and delivery challenges, safety compliance and quality are paramount. The Supply Chain Associate should make recommendations to Supply Chain Management for changes to working conditions and methods to improve efficiency while ensuring employee safety; must maintain a positive team environment within the work group.
This position requires strong interpersonal skills, professional communications both internally and externally working in a team environment with a diverse group of associates, customers, and suppliers.
The Supply Chain Associate must require help from coworkers when handling heavier items since pallets and skids may weigh up to 2000 lbs.
Job may require overtime and a flexible schedule, reporting early and working late including weekends from time to time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinates and sends shipments. Activities include checking the accuracy of the shipment, checking for quality issues, packing goods, populating paperwork, ensuring all required paperwork is provided as well as scheduling the pickup of shipments as necessary
Generates the required labels for each shipped parts or materials, making sure to include all the required information such as, sales order number, supplier, customer name, date packed and total of individual skids or boxes.
Works with automated taping machines to package parts to go into inventory.
Generates assembly instructions and uses them to build parts for customers as well as inventory.
Reviews and assists the receiving clerk with the receiving paperwork to check the accuracy of the shipment coordinates the staging and loading of inbound and outbound shipments, takes pictures when necessary.
Works with other departments when detecting quality issues on shipments and coordinates the actions accordingly and as per procedure, completes proper documentation.
Utilizes UPS and FedEx shipping software’s to send small package and LTL shipments to customers locations as requested.
May operate a variety of machines and equipment including but not limited to forklift, standing stock picker, cart, hand trucks as well as the ability to cover other positions when needed.
Performs activities for training new employees, corrective action procedures with department employees.
Must be able to multitask and possess decision making skills for prioritizing of the workload.
Candidate must also be able to work from an elevated platform wearing designated safety equipment. Heights will vary but will not exceed 25’.
Coordinates and oversees activities to comply with 5’ S, safety, and other related company policies.
Reports and documents injury or other safety related incidence according to company policy.
Keeps communication lines open between Management and workers.

Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required, Associates Degree or BS highly desirable or 2 to 3 years of related inventory and shipping experience or equivalent. Training in operating forklift, carts and handtruck is a plus. Recent experience in inventory control, cycle counting, and researching root cause and making recommendations on how to solve and eliminate inventory errors desired.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Basic computer knowledge, ability to read and write, interpret manufacturing paperwork diagrams and shipping documents, shop documents and record information on forms provided, comprehend for purpose of communicating safety, understand instructions and work directions. Perform simple math calculations, be aware of and observe quality requirements. Be able to safely perform work of a manual nature including operate manual and powered hand tools including but not limited to steel cutters, etc. Recent experience with use and understanding scan guns and their use in both shipping, inventory put-away and picking, and cycle counting.

Frequently walking, using hands and fingers to handle or feel, operate, activate, inspect, place, detect, position, grasping or squeezing, stoop, kneel, crunch or crow, climb, talk/hear to communicate, detect, converse with discern, convey, exchange information; see to detect, distinguish, identify, inspect, estimate. Perform frequent repetitive movement, lifting, pushing and pulling; up to 70 pounds. Supply Chain Associate must require help from coworkers when handling heavier items since pallets and skids may weigh up to 200 lb.

Covered toe shoes.
Work Environment:
Be able to work in a loud, noisy and congested environment with multiple people and equipment in the area. May be exposed to dusty areas, work is primarily performed inside however the need to be outside during inclement weather is possible. Must wear proper protective clothing including but not limited to safety glasses, harnesses and hearing protection.
