Overview

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Clerk to join our growing team! The duties will include processing work hours and payment through the payroll system, issuing deductions, earnings and other statements to employees and updating payroll records regularly. The Payroll Clerk will manage and prepare the biweekly payroll for multiple entities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Gather, review and input all payroll related data including hours worked and time off

· Calculate salaries, wages, overtime, meal and break allowances

· Manage benefit withholding, payroll deductions, garnishments, levies, federal and state tax withholding

· Updating payroll records by entering changes to employee information

· Preparing reports that include summaries of earnings, tax deductions, and non-taxable wages

· Prepare and post payroll related journal entries to the general ledger.

· Issue and distribute checks

· Maintain payroll records in accordance with company policy

QUALIFICATIONS

· Minimum of two years of payroll processing experience

· Strong computer skills, ADP knowledge preferred

· Knowledge of wage withholding orders

· Knowledge of overtime, meal and break regulations

· Accurate data entry skills with great attention to detail

· Sound decision making skills

· Ability to multitask in a stressful environment with specific deadlines

· Ability to work independently in a time-sensitive environment

· Must maintain confidentiality and respect for the privacy of employee records

· Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not required

SALARY

· Non-Exempt, Full-time

· Range: $18-$30 DOE

BENEFITS

· Full benefit package upon successful completion of 90-day probationary period.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
