We are seeking a Bioinformatics Scientist provide services in support of the overall functions of the Structural Bioinformatics Core.
- Design and develop in silico analysis tools providing biological insight of vaccine targets including (but not limited to) HIV-1, SARS-CoV-2 spike, Influenza, Dengue/Zika, SIV, Lassa virus and other emerging pathogens.
- Utilize computer simulation expertise such as molecular dynamic and monte carlo simulations to solve protein structures’ dynamics and mechanism of protein-protein interaction.
- Develop and improve an in silico tool to quantify glycan density of glycoprotein and find out correlations with antibody-antigen properties (e.g., immunogenicity, antigenicity, antibody-antigen recognition distance).
- Develop web-based servers of in-house developed in silico tools.
- Apply advanced sampling skills such as steered and targeted molecular dynamics simulation approach to evaluate transition state between state 2 and state 3 of HIV-1.
- Serve as expert to identify critical/biological findings of experimental data and collaborate with other scientists.
- Utilize High performance computing (HPC) to bring the state-of-the-art techniques such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, deep learning to vaccine target protein design.
- Provide scientific expertise to facilitate protein and vaccine design.
- Publish the findings and analysis in peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences.
- This position requires a PhD in Computational Biology/Chemistry or a related field and 1-2 years of postdoctoral experience.
