About This Position
The Behavior Instructional Assistant (BIA) has duties that are integrated with both the academic and behavior aspects. The Behavior IA helps to implement and support the academic and behavior environment in the school. The Behavior IA is expected to work with teachers and students in the mainstream setting, serving students by implementing education and behavior management strategies. Compensation

The Behavior Instructional Assistant position is at Level L of the classified salary schedule and is based on a 182-day/10-month work year.
- The estimated beginning salary for this position is $18.65-$19.79 per hour; however, highly experienced candidates may be placed higher on the salary schedule at hiring.
- Applicants who hold a Bachelor's degree will automatically be placed at Step 3.

In addition to this salary, the Canby School District will pay the employee’s 6 percent PERS contribution.
- This position is eligible for full-time benefits.
Applicant agrees to assume cost and arrange for a fingerprint-based criminal records check upon offer of employment ($10-$20 at printing; $66 payroll deduction). Applicant has the choice to pay the $66.00 fingerprint fee up front or have the fee deducted from their first paycheck.
