SURVEY TECHNICIAN JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision of a survey party chief or project manager, a Survey Technician is responsible for executing routine field surveying tasks. There will be occasional overnight travel required in this position.
SURVEY TECHNICIAN JOB DUTIES
- Sets up and operates various types of survey equipment.
- Makes field survey measurements using various equipment.
- Sets and makes construction stakes, using lath and other markers.
- Performs basic survey calculations for grading and stake-out coordinates.
- Works closely with teammates to gain understanding of project requirements.
- Communicates effectively with survey team members.
- May assist in performing non-complex office and field survey calculations and research.
- Reviews and interprets survey maps, records and construction drawings
Requirements
- 1 years field surveying experience.
- Familiar with geometry and trigonometric principles, standard surveying concepts, practices and procedures used in the land surveying profession.
- Basic knowledge of surveying equipment.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD a plus.
- Must have an active California Driver’s license with a clear driving record and proof of valid auto insurance.
