ABOUT THE ROLE
You will be responsible for developing and leading the Digital Design & Practice Technologies for the firm. You will report to the CIO and work with other key leaders across the firm to ensure strategies are in alignment with firm goals and expectations. You will collaborate with internal and external clients to understand their needs and develop and implement a strategy to ensure Cannon Design is leading the industry in design technologies, while leading a team to align projects with our goals and business plans.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Create a brand and ecosystem for design technology.
- Transform smart digital data driven ideas into reality implemented on projects.
- Establish and communicate a Design Technology roadmap.
- Lead cultural, process-driven, and technical training in Design Technology.
- Research and design a strategy for evaluating and testing emerging design technologies and workflows.
- Foster new applications of technology for design through R&D.
- Identify technology needs for R&D projects.
- Identify external partnership opportunities through R&D to enhance Design Technology capabilities.
- Research the latest industry trends in design technology, content creation, and management.
- Participate and be a thought leader in the design technology space both internally and externally.
- Ensure BIM content and standards are on the leading edge of the AEC industry.
- Partner with the design and practice leadership to develop processes for using new technology to improve the quality of our designs and provide more value to our clients.
- Lead the growth and development of the design technology team.
ABOUT YOUR QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or Computer Science required.
- 15 years of related experience in this role, preferably in the A/E/C design industry.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Business Acumen and ability to execute strategy.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service to clients and staff. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods, including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.
- Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Ability to lead and manage a team.
- Strong mentoring skills.
- Ability to manage a budget.
- Strong communication skills and ability to convey information effectively.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Ability to use data analytic tools including Power BI

The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $180,000 annually. This salary range is the range we believe is the anticipated range of possible base compensation at the timing of the posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the anticipated salary range for the position. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses. We offer a full benefit package including medical, dental and vision coverage and flexible spending account options and voluntary insurances.
