What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host/Hostess position at Cantina 76?
We are looking for dynamic and positive-minded individuals for both day and night host positions. We are looking for part-time, full-time, and summer employees and offer flexible scheduling for those with other jobs or classwork. Be a part of a close-knit staff in a growing company! This is an entry-level position so though previous experience is preferred, it is not a requirement. The biggest requirement is a positive attitude and working with a smile!
Summary of Position:
Welcome and warmly greet guests on arrival. Manage the efficient and timely seating of our guests to a table that best serves their wishes.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival.
- When possible, open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant.
- Know the current specials and daily deals.
- When immediate seating is limited, record guest names and number of people in party.
- Use the provided software to manage the waitlist and notify guests of open tables.
- Provide guests with estimated waiting time.
- Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible.
- Seat guest guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations.
- Upon seating, offer guests a menu and inform them of their server’s name. Inspect table for proper presentation and completeness.
- Relay messages to servers and bus persons as needed.
- Assist servers in running drinks/bussing tables.
- Perform basic cleaning duties.
- Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
