Title: Business Data Analyst - Annuities and Insurance
Location: Charlotte, NC
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret data to help drive informed business decisions within the annuities and insurance industry.
- Work closely with multi-functional teams including actuaries’ underwriters and business partners to extract valuable insights from large datasets.
- Collect, clean, and analyze various data sets related to annuities and insurance products including policy information claims, data market trends and customer demographics.
- Develop and maintain data models, algorithms and statistical analyses to identify patterns trends and anomalies that provide meaningful insights and support decision making.
- Collaborate with actuaries’, underwriters and other business collaborators to understand their analytical needs and provide data driven solutions.
- Present findings and recommendations to key partners in a clear and concise manner through reports visualizations and presentations.
- Continuously monitor data quality, identify data gaps or issues and work with relevant teams to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Stay updated on industry standards market trends and regulatory changes related to annuities and insurance products and incorporate them into analysis and reporting.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of data analytics tools processes and strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of data analysis within the organization.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field, Master’s degree is a plus.
- Demonstrable experience as a Data Analyst or similar role preferably in the annuities and insurance industry.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python, R or SAS.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work with complex datasets to derive meaningful insights.
- Superb communication and presentation skills to convey complex information to non-technical partners.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of annuities and insurance products industry regulations and market dynamics is advantageous.

This role may be eligible for other compensation including variable compensation, bonus, or commission. Full time regular employees are eligible for paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and any other benefits to eligible employees.
