Job Summary:
The Manager, Human Resources supports the management team of assigned business units in all areas of Human Resources including but not limited to employee relations, organizational planning, training and development, HR initiatives, et cetera. Serves as a key member of the HR team by providing up to date information regarding the previously mentioned areas to leaders of the businesses and in the HR team.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
NONE.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions and helping resolve work-related problems.
- Participate and support the senior executive team in succession planning and career development initiatives.
- Advise managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment and recommend needed changes.
- Perform difficult staffing duties, including dealing with understaffing, refereeing disputes, firing employees, and administering disciplinary procedures.
- Plan and conduct new employee onboarding and orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
- Administer all off boarding processes inclusive of exit interview, checklist regarding equipment return, and communication of deactivation of access removal to appropriate departments (IT, Security, et cetera).
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Recommends and develops in-house management and employee training programs that address Company needs.
- Communicates with corporate office regarding matters related to legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resources functions.
- Supports the recruitment process including receipt of requisition information and approvals, as well as communicating with corporate recruiting department regarding posting of approved requisitions.
- Plan, organize, direct, control or coordinate the personnel, training, or union avoidance activities of an organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Proficiencies:
- Three (3) or more years utilizing an HRIS system to administer employee data, generate reports upon request, and other duties as needed.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and proven attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Kronos is highly preferred.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Human Resources or related field.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification is desirable.
- Five (5) years supporting a multi-division business at an HR Generalist or HRBP level with demonstrated knowledge of employment law, compensation, organizational planning, employee relations, and training and development.
- One (1) year of experience in a similar role supporting a manufacturing business.
- Ability to work effectively with leadership at all levels including upper management, field personnel, and other members of the HR team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively adapt to changes quickly.
Other Requirements:
Ability to travel up to 50% is required.
