What Manufacturing Management contributes to Cardinal Health
Manufacturing Management is responsible for strategic oversight and leadership direction within the Manufacturing function.
Accountabilities
- Drive continuous improvement in product cost and manufacturing processes; including identification of cost savings initiatives and leading cost reduction projects.
- Training and development of hourly manufacturing employee; including but not limited to on the job training, safe work habits and good housekeeping.
- Address employee complaints and resolve problems.
- Stay current on all department and plant procedures related to the job, which can affect the quality of products and/or services to our customers.
- Assure the effectiveness and accuracy of equipment and tooling used in the manufacturing operation. Assist in diagnosing equipment and tooling malfunctions. Expedite and coordinate repairs and/or replacement with department and plant maintenance and engineering groups.
- Review and coordinate with focus factory engineering staff on production validations and projects as well as process problems. Provide information and data and collaborate with global support departments regarding cost reductions, work simplification, production scheduling, labor planning, and process improvement.
- Analyze the production effectiveness of assigned operations, equipment, and staff.
- Participate on or lead CAPA teams. Complete failure investigations as assigned.
- Administers and executes policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline required
- 2-5 years related manufacturing experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Green-Belt certification preferred
- Black-Belt certification preferred
