TITLE
Emergency Medical Technician/Driver
POSITION SUMMARY
Care Connectors is looking to hire a high-quality EMT/Driver to operate our Mobile Medical Clinic in various locations in and around the Rio Grande City and surrounding areas with daily operational responsibilities pertaining to the Mobile Medical Clinic and other assigned projects. Mechanical know-how is preferred.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
- Coordinates safe transport and efficient use of the mobile unit to and from community sites. This role does not transport passengers.
- Prepares, operates, sets-up, load, unload equipment and secures mobile medical unit in safe manner in accordance with Project Policy.
- Finds/Coordinates locations for mobile clinic to operate at.
Must be able to safely operate and drive a 40 foot RV/Mobile Clinic. (Class B is preferred but not required in TX)
- Performs daily operational and safety inspections. Inspect equipment daily for damage, equipment failures, and safety items to ensure the safe use of the equipment while performing assigned duties.
- Driver needs to be safe, courteous, and professional.
- Serves as professional representative of the company.
- Operates vehicle obeying all pertinent traffic laws and regulations.
- Assist staff and patients as needed (follow check-in-process).
- Secures vehicle when unattended.
- Performs routine maintenance and interior and exterior cleaning (before and after use).
- Monitors and schedules specified maintenance, repairs inspections and licensing.
- Completes and maintains logs of inspections, supplies and the operation of the vehicle.
- Responsible for timely reporting of any problems and the operation of the vehicle.
- Performs custodial or routine maintenance tasks as required for program of operation.
- Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- A Valid TX driver’s license with the desire/ability to obtain a commercial license
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be 25 years of age or older
- Driver must demonstrate driving experience via past employment and/or motor vehicle records
- Six months experience driving a commercial vehicle (RV, bus, ambulance, fire truck, or other large vehicle).
- Proof of insurability: A safe driver with a valid driver’s license and no more than 1 moving violations in the past 12 months. No convictions for driving under the influence of alcohol or any drugs within the past 10 years. No at-fault accidents within the last 5 years
- All Motor vehicle records will be checked
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required.
- During employment, must submit to random drug & alcohol testing. The ability to move heavy objects (up to 35 lbs.) may be required.
- Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
- Current EMT-B Certification
PREFERENCES
- A Valid TX commercial driver’s license (CDL)
