Shipping Supervisor

The Royal Group, a subsidiary of Schwarz Partners is currently seeking a Shipping Supervisor (2nd shift) to support our Cicero, IL facility. Under the direction of the Lead Floor Supervisor, the shipping supervisor oversees and supervises shipping floor members to ensure all items are prepared, shipped, and received on time while complying with company policy. ESSENTIALJOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:Supervise forklift, turret, and auto-bander operators in unitizing, palletizing product and loading trailers to meet the most demanding customers’ expectations. Closely monitor and adhere to daily production schedule to meet quality, cost, delivery, and service goals. Coordinate with maintenance department to repair equipment in the shipping department- forklifts, turrets, dock plates, dock doors, warehouse racks, conveyors, auto-banders, etc. Coordinate closely with shipping office (planner, dispatcher, clerks) to meet shipment timelines. Keep upper management informed of problems or situations that may affect the performance of your department. Teach, coach, train members to perform their jobs in accordance with work instructions. Conduct corrective action procedures when applicable and conduct meetings with the violating employees and union representatives. Conduct daily shift meeting with floor personnel to set the direction for the shift and keep members informed of broader departmental/company topics. Communicate and coordinate your actions with production supervisors and other shipping supervisors to maintain flow of operations. Maintain high morale within department by showing fairness, consistency, and interest in employee concerns. Maintain confidentiality. Implement, maintain, and support all company policies and procedures, including Union contract and safety and quality standards. REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:High School diploma or GED. Two years’ experience as a Forklift operator and/or truck driver. One-year shipping experience. Preferred Education/Experience: College and/or related technical experience. One-year supervisory experience as a proven manager of at least five people. Four years’ experience in the corrugated box industry. REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:Basic computer skills, to request trailers from spotters and update information on a screen. Ability to send and receive emails; communicate in written format. Regulatory requirements including but not limited to wage and hour requirements, environmental and waste minimization, company policies, and personnel requirements including OSHA, DEQ AND EEO. Salary : $70,000 - $75,000
