Director Of Nursing (DON/DNS) - Interim

We are hiring a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) for a Director of Nursing (DON) opportunity in Chadron, NE. The position requires the Registered Nurse candidate to have recent extensive Director experience within the past 12 months of employment. • Weekly Estimated Pay: $3,285
• Weekly Taxable Pay: $2,200
• Weekly Housing Stipend: $672
• Weekly Meal Stipend: $413

• Rates may vary based on stipend needs

Responsibilities:

Provide leadership as an Interim Director of Nursing Services when a center is in the process of hiring and/or training a DNS.

Provide mentoring to Directors of Nursing Services. Provide leadership and support to centers where there is need for more guidance and assistance and/or for longer periods of time than can be provided by the Rehab/Skilled Consultant.

Provide consultation, interpretation, assistance, guidance, and problem solving services to center staff, Regional Vice Presidents, administrators, directors of nursing services, and other National Campus staff.

Develop and provide training during assignments.

Assist nursing staff to coordinate provision of services with other disciplines to meet resident needs and to provide safe, effective, holistic care within regulations and guidelines.

Throughout the assignment, provide consultation and assistance to center staff on development and implementation of QAPI processes, in partnership with the Quality consultant.

Maintain knowledge of current information and practices in the nursing field and long-term care.

Ability to work as an interdisciplinary team member. Travel to centers to work 100% of the time. On-call 24 hours a day while on assignment.

Provide crisis management.

Education Experience Licensure Certification:

Registered Nurse (RN) required; BSN preferred.

Two years’ experience as a director of nursing in long term care.

Prior experience with Good Samaritan is a plus.

Skills/Abilities:

Nursing, supervision, consultation and training skills required.

Strong leadership skills.

Ability to problem solve.

1. Ability to supervise nursing staff and others for whom they are administratively or professionally responsible.

2. Ability to work with other personnel and develop/maintain good relations

3. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of nursing care and current clinical practice, treatments and interventions, specific to position specialty.

4. Ability to understand and monitor applicable regulations, policies and procedures.

5. Promote patient's independence by establishing patient care goals.

6. Resolve patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.

7. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with rules and regulations.

8. Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.

9. Ability to deal tactfully with residents, students, family members, visitors, government agencies and personnel, according to position setting.

10. Ability to maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc.

11. Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.

12. Demonstrate proficiency in written/verbal skills in English language

13. Sufficient computer skills required to perform duties.

CERTIFICATION / REQUIREMENTS:

1. 1 to 3 years of director level experience in long-term care.

2. Restorative or geriatric nursing experience preferred.

3. Nursing degree from an accredited institution.

4. Current CPR/BLS certification, Physical, TB test

5. Current RN license or license eligible in the state of employment.
