What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse position at CareSTL Health?
CareSTL Health is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse II who is caring, compassionate, and hard-working to join our team!
Position: The Registered Nurse is responsible to the Department Director, and is to be clinically competent; deliver care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation; and effectively interact with patients, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
Essential Functions:
- Directs and supervises less skilled nursing/healthcare personnel, or supervises a particular unit on one shift
- Prepares patients for, and assists with examinations and treatments
- Assesses the needs of individuals, families, and/or communities, including assessment of individuals' home and/or work environments to identify potential health or safety problems
- Instructs individuals, families, and other groups on topics such as health education, disease prevention, and childbirth, and develops health improvement programs
Additional Duties:
- Prepares rooms, sterilizes instruments, equipment/supplies, and ensures that stock of supplies are maintained
- Administers oral, inhalation, intravenous, intramuscular, intradermal and other routes
- Conducts specified laboratory tests as directed in Myrtle Hilliard Davis Comprehensive Health Center's Policies and Procedures for Standing Orders under the direction of a physician
- Directs and coordinates infection control programs, advising and consulting with specified personnel about necessary precautions
- Provides or arranges for training/instruction of auxiliary personnel and community stakeholders
- Refers patients to specialized health resources or community agencies
- Consults with institutions or associations regarding issues and concerns relevant to the practice and the profession of nursing
- Works with individuals, groups, and families to plan and implement programs designed to improve the overall health of communities' outcomes
- Communicates with all staff, patients, and families with excellent written and verbal skills
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing required
- Valid registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of Missouri required
- Current AHA Healthcare Provider training (BCLS) required
- Current CPR Certification required
- Experience: 6 yrs of experience or more
- Other: Must have reliable transportation.
Additional Information:
- Clinic hours are Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
