Shift(s) Available: 1st (Hours: 7:00AM-3:00PM Monday-Friday or Wednesday- Sunday, Weekends and Holidays)

Responsibilities:
- Cleaning – includes dishes, lab equipment and lab.
- Micro media preparation including inoculation of media with control organisms.
- Make appropriate dilutions following procedure manual to assure accuracy.
- Complete all aspects of Lab Quality Assurance.
- Record sample (log in) and determine tests required.
- Knowledge of conversion units of measurement.
- Responsible for all PM including calibrations, determining if equipment is working within proper parameters and taking proper corrective action for failures.
- Record keeping and organization.
- Check in and audit supplies.
- Identify significant changes and trends in data.
- Train techs on tests within skill level.
- Perform environmental microbiological testing of lab area.
- Perform microbiological testing according to standard methods or as directed (i.e. follow procedures manual) including required controls and readout for final analysis and reporting.
- Data entry and report out.
- Has the authority and responsibility to report problems with the food safety management system to identified person(s) and shall have the responsibility to initiate and record actions.
- Ability to perform analyses to standards equivalent to those described in ISO 17025 and to understand requirements of the Good Laboratory Practices Manual (GLP) and be able to take action if necessary.
- Understand the requirements of the cultural confirmation and LGC programs and be able to take actions if necessary.
- Once training is complete, will be allowed to conduct training for others in the lab.
Required Qualifications
Must have High School Diploma or GED- Basic math ability (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division)
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of conversation units of measurement
- Availability to work outside of normal shift up to including weekend and off shift hours as needed.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
- Must be 18 years or older
- Willing to work in hot and cold environment
- 1 year experience in a technical field or appropriate level of understanding to be determined by the supervisor.
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and able to demonstrate.
Preferred Qualifications
Good record keeping and organization skills- Proficiency in department duties and ability to train other duties
- Ability to determine corrective actions to assure compliance
- Ability to communicate with Supervisors and team members concerning safety, quality and assigned daily tasks
- Ability to work cooperatively with Maintenance and all other production teams in scheduling, problem solving, communication of daily operations and business activities
- Ability to carry out assigned projects with little to no supervision
- Ability to utilize knowledge of solids, temperature, PRP's, safety and microbiological sample-s to aid production in problem solving and implementation of corrective action
