About the Role

Caribou is looking for an Accounts Payable Manager to implement, manage, and maintain our accounts payable function, including software and systems . As a member of Caribou’s Finance team, you will report to the Controller and work closely with colleagues in Finance & Accounting. The Accounts Payable Manager will:

• Manage the Accounts Payable department in order to receive, enter, and process accounts payable invoices. Ensure invoices are appropriately coded for company, department, natural account and location classifications.
• Oversee the ACH, wire and check run process to pay vendors and employees on a timely basis within specified terms.
• Implement best Accounts Payable practices and share knowledge to promote process standardization within the organization when applicable.
• Ensure appropriate approvals are obtained for payment of invoices in accordance with defined process.
• Correspond with vendors and expense business owners when necessary to respond to inquiries.
• Manage monthly closing of financial records and posting of month end information, reconcile related GL accounts to Accounts Payable sub-ledger, enter journal entries as needed to ensure accuracy of financial statements under US GAAP.
• Support design, implementation and roll out of Employee expense reimbursement process to ensure compliance with travel and expense guidelines on a timely basis to meet payroll processing deadlines
• Assist with company credit card program, including preparation of transaction uploads to general ledger system, receipt collection and reconciliation of month-end account balances.
• Assist in Accounts Payable system conversion and lead efforts on data migration and creation of the Accounts Payable business processes.

This role can be based out of Caribou offices in Washington, DC; Denver, CO; Austin, TX. Alternatively, the Accounts Payable Manager may work remotely from a state where Caribou does business. However, this role will require attendance at occasional in-person team meetings. As a result, candidates must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to be eligible for this position.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field preferred
• Minimum 5 years accounting experience, with 3 years in accounts payable required, working in a high volume, fast-paced environment
• Strong month end close and internal controls experience a must.
• Large corporate experience strongly preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout Company organization
• Strong organizational skills and attention to details
•  ERP systems experience required, NetSuite a plus
• Advanced Excel skills and be able to manage large datasets
