PRINCIPAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial manufacturing equipment. Read and interpret machinery repair instructions and schematics.
Draft and design simple control circuits, electrical and mechanical, with proficiency in basic welding, general fabrication, and assembly.
Communicate with technical reps as to identify and procure component parts or obtain information for machinery repairs. Responsibilities of this position will include troubleshooting, corrective actions, preventive actions, predictive actions, and emergency maintenance on a wide variety of metalworking and finishing equipment (CNC and Conventional.)
In addition to repairs (mechanical, hydraulic, electrical services, PLC-related inspections and controls), troubleshooting, and adjustments, this person should be detailed oriented, motivated, and proactive.
This position requires an individual with a commitment to excellence and the ability to work in a team-oriented corrective action environment.
WORK PROCEDURES
- Work from blueprints, drawings, written and / or verbal directions.
- Troubleshoot printed circuit board controls, CNC equipment, servo systems and controls, machine equipment and facility operations, etc., as required.
- Install, repair, and / or replace a variety of electrical equipment and devices as required.
- Keep a clean and orderly work area.
- Perform any other related duties or projects as required or assigned.
- Knowledge and working experience with CNC machinery including PLC programming, debugging, and repair.
- Repair buildings and grounds including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
- Able to work with outside providers including contacting vendors for over-the-phone support and working with vendors during onsite repairs.
REQUIREMENTS / SPECIALIZED SKILLS
- High School diploma / equivalent
- Must have a formal two-year apprenticeship or possess four years of equivalent job experience or a combination of experience and education.
- Physical / Mental requirements include lifting / carrying 50 pounds, ability to mount / dismount forklift / truck, reading, writing, basic math skills, analysis / comprehension, and judgment / decision-making
- Certified training; industrial truck driving permit Class I, II, IV, & V (Forklift)
- Preferred certification or equivalent job experience in PLC programming, debugging, and repair. Mazak, Kitamura, HASS, and Miyano experience a plus.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
