Job Description -Care Specialist
Vision
The Care Specialist will help the Wellhaven Home Care team achieve our vision of enabling families to thrive in a season of need by providing compassionate and dependable in-home care. The Care Specialist will be primarily responsible for starting care with new clients, filling in caregiving as needed, and helping ensure Wellhaven Home Care standards among caregiving staff.
Responsibilities
Wellhaven Home Care Columbia Care Specialist will:
- Provide care to new clients during the onset of care
- Cultivate healthy relationships with clients and their support structures through good communication
- Train new caregivers on client-specific care to ensure successful hand-off
- Model and encourage highest caregiving standards through routine client/caregiver home visits
- Provide caregiving services to clients as needed as a fill-in
- Administrative tasks as directed on an as needed basis
- Support the overall vision and mission of Wellhaven Home Care

Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in the Senior, Home Care, or Health Care industries
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to pass Drug Screen and Background Check, and have a clean driving record
- Possess reliable transportation
- Flexibility to work within scheduled times
Successful Outcomes
- Start 100% of new clients with care for a minimum of 1 week
- Receive positive feedback/reviews from new clients during onboarding
- Hand off care of new clients to new caregivers with 85% success rate (i.e new caregiver continues care beyond 30 days)
- Successful working relationship with the caregivers
- Understanding and contirubuting to the culture of the organization.
Compensation: $16/hour
Benefits (after 90 days):
