What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician II position at CaroMont Health?
Job Summary: To perform a variety of technical, clerical, and related duties in connection with the activities of the hospital pharmacy with high level efficiency; demonstrates proficiency in a minimum of two pharmacy competency areas (medication distribution, non-hazardous sterile compounding, hazardous sterile compounding, OR pharmacy support, and/or medication reconciliation); utilizes automation to credit or charge medications to patient accounts; fill requisitions and deliver drugs to nursing units; assist in checking, ordering, and storing floor stock items; and dispense medications under direct supervision of a pharmacist.
Qualifications: Completion of 12th grade (high school or equiv). Six months of hospital pharmacy work experience required; 12 months preferred. Ability to perform a minimum of two pharmacy competency skills with high level efficiency (medication distribution, non-hazardous sterile compounding, hazardous sterile compounding, OR pharmacy support, and/or medication reconciliation). Ability to participate in the training of new pharmacy technicians. Some typing skills; Annual Registration with the NC State Board of Pharmacy is required. A new Pharmacy Technician hired but not already registered with the NC Board has 30 days from hire date to comply. Active Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) is required.
