The Payroll Analyst will administer daily payroll operations. Their primary role is to ensure stakeholders are paid appropriately, timely and without error. They will calculate and document all transactions related to a stakeholder’s wages (commission, bonuses, overtime, etc.) and deductions (insurance premiums, garnishments, taxes, etc.). They will produce payroll reports and serve as the primary contact for all payroll-related questions for stakeholders.

The Payroll Analyst will administer daily payroll operations. Their primary role is to ensure stakeholders are paid appropriately, timely and without error. They will calculate and document all transactions related to a stakeholder’s wages (commission, bonuses, overtime, etc.) and deductions (insurance premiums, garnishments, taxes, etc.). They will produce payroll reports and serve as the primary contact for all payroll-related questions for stakeholders.
What To Expect
- Maintain and update payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data
- Update payroll records in HR system by reviewing changes in timecards, exemptions, deductions, earnings, etc.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
- Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures and reporting necessary changes
- Field phone calls and emails to assist stakeholders with any payroll-related questions or issues with a sense of urgency
- Coordinate with HR system on filing appropriate Federal, State and Local taxes, processing garnishments, reporting, etc.
- Assist with coordination and calculation of semi-monthly, monthly, and quarterly commission payments
- Receive appropriate approval from leadership for payroll updates when needed
- Ongoing maintenance of Carson locations in the HR system including state registration set-up for unemployment and withholding, establishments, addresses, and reporting
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, including remittance of payroll taxes
- Conduct regularly scheduled audits of payroll records to ensure continued accuracy
- Collaborate with all Carson departments and locations to achieve excellence in payroll processing
- Knowledge of HR, payroll and tax regulations
- Intrinsic and intentional customer service skills
- Demonstrates organizational skills and attention to detail and able to multi-task and work with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain confidential information
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to train others, and streamline and document processes
- A self-motivated professional who demonstrates initiative, flexibility, teamwork, and a sense of urgency to meet deadlines timely
- Minimum three years of prior payroll processing experience, including an understanding of federal, state, and local tax requirements; multi-state employer experience a plus
- Experience with HR Information System (Paycom, UKG, Workday, or another similar tool)
