What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician position at CaryRx?
We're looking for dedicated team members willing take the extra step to help our patients. Your work will consist of normal pharmacy technician duties and you'll have the opportunity to work with patients (via phone call) to assist them with prior authorizations, approvals, and setting up delivery.

While pharmacy technician experience, is preferred, it is not required. We are looking for motivated and willing to learn team members to help us change pharmacy for the better.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains active state or national certification, as required.
- Provides required health records, if needed as determined by assignment.
- Submits to requested drug screening(s).
- Provides professional pharmacy technician services, which include:
- Processing and filling prescription orders
- Counting, pouring, measuring, and weighing tablets and medications
- Mixing medications
- Creating prescription labels
- Processing insurance claims and working with insurance companies to obtain approval
- Manage and assist patients with prior authorization approvals
- Providing excellent customer service: in person, telephone, online chat, email
- Maintaining inventory of prescription and OTC medications
- Packaging, weighing, and labeling medications for shipments
- Maintaining cleanliness as needed in the pharmacy and work areas
- Each assignment that you accept will be performed by you to its completion.
- Comply with all applicable laws and pharmacy regulations in the District of Columbia
- Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward patients at all times.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Retail pharmacy, hospitality, customer support associate, retail store associate
