What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Lab Technician position at Cascades?
Your Challenge
Reporting to the Quality Coordinator, the Quality Lab Technician plays an integral role in supporting the team to ensure compliance, safety and quality at all times.
Job Description
- Manage lab equipment (inspections, calibrations, PM’s, cleaning)
- Floor rounds (tray sampling quality checks, process reviews, and process adherence validations)
- Internal SQF audit participation and validation of food safety management system
- Data collection and analysis
- Raw materials sampling and testing
- MES compliance adherence checks
- Support with SQF and Quality related training tasks
- Collects, analyzes, and interprets production and quality data
- Identifies raw, in process and finished goods or material conditions by collecting material samples, conducting inspections, and performing physical tests
- Performs AQL inspections to ensure product quality standards are met
Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Previous lab experience is preferred
- Strong computer experience, including Microsoft office (specifically Excel) is an asset
- Above average math and problem solving skills
- The ability to work independently and work in a structured work environment
- Must be able to work : Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
