TITLE: Director of Simulation & Educational Technology
HOURS: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
TRAVEL: Position requires up to 10% domestic travel
DUTIES: Participate as teaching faculty in Foundations in Clinical Medicine, Clinical Skills Exams, and Collaborative Practice. Provide administrative oversight for the budget and ongoing operations and directly supervise the administrative staff and faculty in supporting the Clinical Skills Center functions. Communicate a vision and multi-year strategic plan for expansion of current programming for clinical skills training, simulation and use of educational technologies across the continuum of medical education in the Health Education Campus. Manage process of achieving initial full accreditation of MSSSC with Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) and all necessary certifications for maintenance of accreditation; develop, organize and submit updates on simulation center policies and procedures as needed; and support LCME accreditation process in applicable areas. Partner with the CWRU Hololens development team to extend use of augmented reality in simulation in medical education and collaborate with GARLA (Gross Anatomy, Radiology, Living Anatomy) curriculum leaders to insure seamless coordination of activities. Assure student metrics, grading, remediation, and surveys as it relates to how simulation supports the medical education programs. Contribute to faculty development in simulation and in milestone development and measurement associated with simulation; work collaboratively with the Education Institute and the Simulation and Advanced Skills Center at the Cleveland Clinic to ensure optimal use of resources to train across the continuum of medical education. Develop and implement innovations and educational technologies that advance clinical skills training, advanced communication skills, teamwork training, and enhanced learning for health professionals. Contribute to the design team of interprofessional education. Explore opportunities to engage external users in the use of the facilities, such as MOC programs, vendors, and other funders.
REQUIREMENTS: Doctor of Medicine, Health Sciences, or related degree, and five (5) years of experience in clinical education, research director, professor or lecturer in medicine, or a related occupation. Must also have experience with: academic medicine; simulation education or educational technologies; health professions education and curriculum development; simulation research and educational theory; faculty development; research and scholarly work in simulation; and grants and development. Experience may be gained through teaching.
Salary: $144,500 per year
