POSITION SUMMARY:
This position performs human resources related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: onboarding, simple employee relations, employee information and reporting, benefit administration and communication, including leave management, and general HR duties. Confidentiality of all information and a professional company image is required at all times.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Onboarding:

  • Take ownership of corporate, field office and field management applicant after the offer is made to ensure they complete all pre-employment requirements; may assist Recruiting with developing offers generated from the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Responsible for salaried Onboarding administration, including maintaining the master documents, availability of information on the company Intranet, and development and tracking of individualized Orientation schedule.
  • Train field office personnel on proper use of all Onboarding material, including Form I-9.
  • Assist new hires with all questions related to Onboarding.
  • Maintain constant communication with site management and administration about timing and placement of new and rehires.
  • Arrange travel as needed for new hires and applicants in back-up capacity.

Employee Information and Reporting:

  • Conduct Form I-9 compliance for new hires and rehires, including eVerify.
  • Complete the new hire set up in the Vista HRIS system: scan and enter all employee documentation, for new and rehires, review to ensure accuracy and completion, follow-up with site admins and new hires for missing documents.
  • Maintain all employee-related file inquiry personnel file requests, performance management documentation, and other sensitive material.
  • Key incoming ESRs: transfers, title changes, etc. for employees in Vista
  • Administer and track referral bonus program.
  • Research employee issues (payroll, wages, personnel issues, etc.)
  • Complete forms and questionnaires from various public agencies requesting verification of employment, insurance coverage and income status, etc.; prepare all the above letters, documents, etc. to be mailed or faxed.

Benefit Administration:

  • Input benefits information into database, including employee deductions, status, special timecards, etc.
  • Maintain benefits-eligibility reporting and communicate with applicable managers.
  • Provide employee benefits reporting, including census data, benefit enrollments and changes, etc.
  • Responsible for Benefits Orientation material and delivery to employee population
  • Assist in conducting open enrollment annually for all benefit plans, including development of material, delivery to employees, etc.
  • Administer Leave programs.
  • Respond to employee questions as they relate to Casey benefits programs.
  • Process monthly benefits program invoicing.

General Human Resources:

Understand, keep abreast of and comply with federal, state and local employment laws.

  • Support Spanish speaking population by translating company material.
  • Assists Director with simple employee complaints, policy interpretation and investigations, including translation services for Spanish-speaking population.
  • Support company policies and guidelines.
  • Assist in all areas of HR and complete other duties/projects as assigned.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of three-year HR experience required, preferably in Benefits, talent acquisition, and general HR.
  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent in Human Resources from two-year college or technical school preferred, or 3-5 years related experience and/or training or equivalent education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Must demonstrate Company values in decision-making and interactions with employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Functional computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • A strong affinity for building relationships.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from employees.
  • Must be able to balance the workload of daily/weekly/monthly tasks, employee and manager inquiries, and projects work.
  • Data entry accuracy is of the utmost importance.
  • Must exhibit a professional demeanor and engage others with respect.

When visiting jobsites, the work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

  • This work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.

HOURS:
This position is a standard Full-Time position, with a general business operating schedule, Monday-Friday.

TRAVEL:
Travel up to 25%.
