Job Title: Associate Attorney
Details: Boutique Salem Law Firm seeking to hire a full-time housing attorney with at least 3 years of experience, particularly in landlord-tenant law. The successful candidate will join our Housing Team to represent housing authorities in state, federal, and public housing matters. Experience with matters involving state and public housing is preferred. The ideal candidate will have strong writing, communication, and negotiation skills with experience in mediating and trying cases in housing court. This position has the potential for in-office, hybrid, or remote work. Salary is commensurate with experience, starting at $80,000 with quarterly bonus potential based on hourly goals. Our location is accessible by car and M.B.T.A Commuter Rail. Qualified candidates should submit a cover letter, resume, and writing sample.
Company Description: Boutique law firm located in Downtown Salem specializing in Estate Planning, Estates and Probate, Fiduciary Litigation, Real Estate, and Landlord/Tenant Law.
Job Responsibilities:
· Working with a team of four other attorneys and paralegals to draft pleadings, motions, and written discovery requests and responses.
· Researching relevant law to draft memoranda
· Regular meetings with directors of local housing authorities
· Conducting depositions and witness interviews
· Preparing for and arguing motion hearings in housing court
· Trial preparation and attendance at trial
Necessary Skills/Qualifications:
· 3 Years of experience
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel
· Strong writing and research skills required
· Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
· Must be detail-oriented
· Must have strong time management skills and prioritizing skills
· Proficiency with Clio preferred
