What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Engineering Manager position at CASEY\?
The IT Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the build and support of both custom and 3rd-party technical solutions to support Casey’s business objectives. The role leads a team of Engineers and Analysts that values automation, reusability, scalability and security using agile/iterative development frameworks and industry-best practices that meet the business need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a strong team of professionals assigned to major initiatives. Responsible for hiring, training, salary administration, performance management and corrective actions for direct reports. Collaborate with team members on career development and goal setting.
- Identifies and implements the appropriate technical solutions to fulfill requirements and partners with Product Management and business partners to recognize new technical needs throughout the organization.
- Collaborates with the Enterprise and Solution Architects to ensure that proposed technical solutions meet the requested business needs and perform effectively and efficiently within the Casey’s technical architecture.
- Works with team to identify and act on refactoring and upgrade opportunities that keep solutions running optimally.
- Ensures team provides dependable and responsive support in conjunction with IT Operations.
- Defines timelines for team goals as they align to overall organizational objectives. Ensures work being done by team is jointly and regularly prioritized between the team, Program Management and their respective business partners.
- Monitors team performance in delivering according to the agile methodology and works with team members and agile coaches to improve processes, capabilities and other improvement opportunities to increase delivery velocity.
- Understands and keeps up to date with latest IT trends while embedding those standards within the team in conjunction with Enterprise and Solution Architecture. Promotes individual learning and self-directed development of team members.
- Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
