What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatch Assistant position at Cashman?
This is intended to be a full-time position.
Pay Range: $20-22/hr, DOE
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Scan, verify and audit driver daily logs.
- Provide driver hours report to dispatch.
- Input hours into Excel Overtime spreadsheet.
- Enter salary and hourly data into payroll program.
- Input heavy haul loads documentation as received by ETCO dispatchers and customers.
- Assure that pick up and delivery directions are accurate and typed into the dispatch system in a clear manner.
- Provide secondary phone support to the assigned dispatcher or permit coordinator.
- Communicate with supervisor about the status of shipments, problems, delays, and unfilled customer requests.
- Must maintain awareness of drivers’ hours of service.
- Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures and standards.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist Transport employees with travel arrangements.
- Perform other assignments as requested by the supervisor.
- Perform all other duties as requested by Transport Manager.
- Work within and promote corporate values.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must have pleasant, effective interpersonal and written communication skills. and be able to compose written communications with good grammar and correct spelling.
- Must have excellent customer service skills for internal and customer contact.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Lotus Notes
- Must be able to type 45 words per minute.
- Must have alpha and numeric filing skills sufficient for documents, driver logs, and reports.
- Must have basic math skills.
- Ability to maintain consistent attendance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
