Engineering High School Summer Intern - Pontiac, IL

Career Area: Administrative Support Job Description: As an Engineering High School Intern with Caterpillar Pontiac, you will be working with a team of engineering, quality, maintenance, and production professionals supporting some of Caterpillar’s world class fuel system components. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a team making improvements in safety, quality, velocity, and cost while you gain valuable experience and grow your skills and knowledge. Project scope and complexity will be adjusted to meet the capabilities of the intern. We would prefer an intern pursuing a career in engineering, quality, or statistics. The intern needs strong computer skills with Microsoft Office type programs, and we will provide the training needed on other special software. Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Utilize Microsoft Excel and Minitab Statistical Software to analyze data Utilize Microsoft Word to update work instructions Populate machine results documentation into Sharepoint system Work with maintenance on implementing continuous improvement projects Work with machine OEMs and Pontiac tool design on updating machine documentation Basic Qualifications: Candidate must currently be enrolled in High School going into your Junior or Senior year of school or will be graduating from High School at the end of this current school year. Must be 16 years of age. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
