Hiring for: Operations Trainer

This position is responsible for the development and implementation of professional workforce training programs, and to oversee, conduct and track training for personnel requiring a commercial driver’s license. The position will acquaint workers in various departments with both internal agency policies and external regulations and evaluate workers’ skills for job proficiency, while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations for documentation of training. This individual will conduct classroom, behind-the-wheel and individualized training in the safe operation of vehicles and equipment in compliance with CATA, PennDOT, and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) guidelines and requirements.
Some pertinent responsibilities of the position are:
- Develops new or enhances current training content and materials for all assigned training classes
- Works directly with trainees or in coordination with Driver Trainers in the study, skill development and road experience for the attainment of CDL Class A or Class B with passenger endorsement
- Serves as co-investigator for collisions/accidents, conducts analysis and makes recommendation to Safety and Training Manager for preventive measure training
- Operates a transit bus when required
- Maintains records and develops reports on new or ongoing programs and program effectiveness; prepares statistical reports, as required
- Evaluates training needs, assists in the development and implementation of all annual training topics; assists in researching speakers or programs pertinent to the development of safety sensitive personnel to meet CATA’s performance and customer service objectives
- Oversees defensive driving program; including scheduling and teaching classes; maintains and updates participant database
- Maintains and submits accurate attendance records of both Trainee and Trainer working hours for payroll purposes
- Requires the ability to work independently - while simultaneously working in direct relationship with the operations manager and the safety and training manager to facilitate a seamless interaction between safety and training
- Maintains training programs for return-to-work, refresher training, and retraining following a prolonged absence from work
- Must be available to work varying hours consistent within service operations and training parameters
- CDL Class A with Passenger Endorsement will be required within six (6) months of hire

Starting salary (dependent upon experience and qualifications) $53,182 - $60,235
